How the Guides Are Made

Yard equipment comes with hard limits printed in the manual: the steepest slope a mower may be ridden on, the nozzle a pressure washer should use on siding, the longest log a splitter accepts. These guides are built around those limits.

Sources, in Order of Trust

  1. The operator’s manual. Safety limits and usage rules come from here, quoted word for word where it matters.
  2. The manufacturer’s spec page or spec sheet. Ratings such as PSI, deck width, tonnage and runtime claims.
  3. Manufacturer guidance articles. These include sizing charts, such as tonnage by wood type. When two makers disagree, both are shown.

Each figure is kept with its source page and the day that page was read. Each guide links to those pages so readers can check them.

What’s Left Out

These machines haven’t been through field trials for this site, so it publishes no scores, ratings or “tested” badges. Where a manufacturer doesn’t state a number, the table leaves it blank instead of estimating.

Before a Guide Goes Live

Each model’s manufacturer page is re-read before a guide is published or updated, and models that are discontinued or dealer-only are noted.
